TMC Smart Air® - The first and only marine variable speed compressor.

A variable speed compressor is equipped with a frequency controlled electric motor. This enables the compresssor to adjust the compressed air production precisely according to the compressed air consumption.
From our experience, the average compressed air requirement is only 40 - 60% of full capacity.

Our compressors are designed for easy installation and maintenance, with robust construction to withstand high engine-room temperatures. Characteristics:

• Engineered to withstand +50°C ambient temperature - electrical cables are halogen-free, electrical motors are Ip55 certified with F-class insulation, hoses are designed to stay flexible and crack-free at 150ºC, the coolers are oversized to ensure reliable operation.

• Small footprint: about a third of the size and weight of a traditional compressor system.

• Low noise level.

• TEMPEST system - ensures clean compressed air on board - with oil content normally less than 2 ppm.

• Easy to install and service: the screw compressors come as a complete package. The simple installation involves just four bolts or four welding points. Connect the power and the air distribution, and you have reliable compressed air for your ship.

• Designed for extended air end lifetime and less wear.

Our engineers streamlined the design and stripped away every unnecessary detail. The TMC compressor is much lighter - and has 30% fewer components.
Marine compressors must deal with impurities in the suction air. The ambient air in the engine room may contain up to 1 mg/m3 of oil. For clean compressed air, efficient filtration downstream is essential.
